Hume Architects have been in business for over 25 years providing a diverse range of customised architectural services.
Hume Architects was established in 1994 for the purpose of generating individual Architecture and design through a personalised consultative process and customised service.
Hume Architects approach to all commissions within the office is consultative. We expect the inspiration for the appropriate solution to be generated within the clients brief and the specific circumstances associated with each individual project. As designers we understand the process of design. Our job is to listen and understand our clients specific requirements and aspirations and give expression to them in a creative, systematic, professional and above all, effective way.
Our methodology is customised to each project in consultation with the client to achieve the best result in an efficient and economical manner.

Chris Hume
FNZIA, B.Arch (Auck), NZCD Arch, Reg Arch
Chris has over 30 years professional experience as a Registered Architect in New Zealand and internationally, and brings that experience to bear on the wide range of projects Hume Architects undertake.
His effective leadership and communication skills in collaborative design projects and commitment to best practice are proven in the company’s performance over the last 25 years. His ability to deliver successful, creative and innovative responses to design briefs are reflected in a number of awards Hume Architects have achieved under his leadership.
Chris is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Architects and is actively involved in the profession. He is a past Chairman of the NZIA Auckland Branch, and Branch Committee member. He has served on a number of construction industry groups and awards juries and is currently a Registration Assesor for the New Zealand Registered Architects Board and on the regional judging panel for the Registered Master Builders House of the Year awards.
